Bloomfield College obtained a pledge of $500,000 in credit, allowing the private New Yersey college to remain open with a reduced faculty this fall under an agreement with the Federal Bankruptcy Court. The National State Bank of Elizabeth, N. J., agreed to allow the 106-year old college to borrow up to half a million dollars during the coming academic year to insure that it would not be caught short of cash.
